Blackbird Island Kids Only Fishing Pond Repair

Get involved in the effort!

The Blackbird Island work party was a great way to get involved and work on a project that will benefit our community! The kids fishing pond at Blackbird Island in Leavenworth, Washington was damaged in the storms and flooding, and TREAD and other amazing volunteers made a big impact at a work party last weekend, May 17th.

A HUGE thank you to McMahon Excavation for the machines, and a big thank you to Trent Jackson for leading the effort and donating his own machine to the effort as well. There is still more to be done, so stay tuned for the next work party, and let's keep clearing the pond so the kids can fish this summer.

If you were unable to volunteer in person, you can still help out the project. To support this effort, there is a GoFundMe campaign. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Trout Unlimited, the official steward of the project. We would greatly appreciate your help in sharing the fundraiser and spreading the word within the community.
