Deferred Backcountry Trail Maintenance

In Partnership with Trans-Cascadia, TREAD was awarded a 2024 Recreational Trails Program Grant through Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RTP RCO Grant). This project will perform comprehensive trail corridor clearing and vital tread repair and maintenance on remote (backcountry) multiple-use National Forest System trails on OWNF and GPNF.

Trans-Cascadia has been success in restored wildfire-damaged, deferred or otherwise insufficiently maintained trail networks to an accessible, usable, and sustainable status affording recreational trail users the opportunity for quality outdoor recreation experiences.

This project will utilize professional crew leaders, skilled laborers, and highly capable volunteers. Work parties will be shared as soon as dates are set. These 4-day volunteer work party events led by Trans-Cascadia will provide deferred backcountry trail maintenance leaving these trails ready for immediate recreational use.
